Happy September!!

Blogging Friends.... Thank-you again for every comment on this new Blog's first post the other day!! I truly appreciated it!! September. I love this time of year!! As I promised, here is the children's story that I wrote during our cabin stay last month. Which was inspired by my niece, Little Munchkin. A huge fanatic of Curious George, she kept pointing at monkeys!! They were everywhere!! For my Blogging Friends who have kids, you may print this story off and read it to them!! I am alright with that!! Enjoy!!

"Monkeys In The Woods"

There are a lot of things that live in the woods. Like towering, pine-scented trees. Many of their branches are covered with soft, feathery moss. And there are a lot of things to see in the woods. Like an ever-flowing creek. You can throw muddy, dirty rocks in the water!! But. Did you know.... That monkeys live in the woods? They do!! Just ask Little Munchkin!! Did you know.... That monkeys climb those towering, pine-scented trees high, high, high up on their soft, feathery moss-covered branches? They do!! Just ask Little Munchkin!! Did you know.... That monkeys swim and take baths in the ever-flowing creek? They do!! Just ask Little Munchkin!! "Now wait just one minute." You might say. "Monkeys do not love in the woods!!" They don't? "No!! They live in the jungle, and swing from green vines. Have you ever been to a forest?" You might ask. "Forests do not have green vines!!" Ah, but Little Munchkin's monkeys are magical. Like Fairies. Or unicorns. And if you do not see Little Munchkin's monkeys, then you simply don't believe in them!! Where is your imagination? There are a lot of wild animals that live in the woods. Like graceful deer. Plus hungry bears. And monkeys!! Just ask Little Munchkin!! Can you see the monkeys?

  2. I am actually terrified of monkeys so I'm hoping there aren't any in our woods.
I did however once see a big black animal that looked a bit like a panther - well it was either a panther or a black alsatian.....

"I visualize illustrations with this little ditty- ever think of illustrating too?". First off. Nothing pleases me more as a writer than to hear that you were visualizing illustrations while reading this story!! Must be doing something right!! ;-D
Secondly. Yes, I have thought of illustrating "Monkeys in the Woods"!! I am terrible at drawing. And I haven't a clue as to how I can illustrate this story for my Blog. However. We intend to turn this story into a "book", and give it away!! ;)
